Amy’s Story:
AmysfamilyI have first-hand experience with being a working mother and the joys and challenges that accompany this unique stage in life. My journey into motherhood began in 2007 when I was blessed with a baby boy. He was the light of my life and once I got through the newborn stage I was able to carve out a life where I could work part time and be a mom. I had a successful career up to that point and although it was a big change it was a fairly smooth transition. I enjoyed being a mom and coaching/consulting with my clients part-time.

Fast forward to 2011 when I was blessed with a baby girl. Everyone says adding another child is like adding ten and I wholeheartedly agree with that philosophy! I’ve always been a goal oriented woman and when I set my mind to something I accomplish it. Being a mother of 2 changed that for me. I found that I was constantly in a state of overwhelm and spinning my wheels. Instead of a few months of adjusting to this next transition it took me a few years!

One day I woke up and realized that my life was running me instead of me running my life and I wanted to feel more in control. I embarked on a journey with the help of a coach to figure out how to make my life work for me again. I needed to figure out “who Amy was” and “what Amy needed” in the context being a mother with a career. Through strategies like better prioritizing my time, saying no more often, and taking better care of myself I ultimately got to a place of feeling more grounded and joyful. It continues to be a daily practice and I don’t claim to have it totally figured out. I love helping other moms struggling with similar issues find their unique formula for success. For me it is truly about being grateful for the joys and navigating the challenges one day at a time.

I am grateful to live a very fulfilling and rewarding life in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado where I live with my husband, two children, and my chocolate lab, Belle (who’s also my office assistant). We enjoy fly fishing, floating down the Colorado River, and hiking in the summer; snowboarding, snowshoeing, and curling up by the fire with a good book in the winter; and seeing live music any time of the year. My family and I also love to visit tropical islands where we can SCUBA dive and saltwater fly fish. More recently I have begun practicing yoga and I love the mind, body, spirit connection it provides.
